EI HAWAII "CLEAN-UP" the ALA MOANA BEACH PARK

On Saturday, April 28th, fifteen dedicated employees from Energy Industries and their families woke up bright and early to help pick up litter and debris all along the “Jetty” beach front area at the Ala Moana Beach Park.





ENERGY SMART NEWS

In addition to supporting charities, Energy Industries sponsors the Energy Smart News. The Energy Smart News is a not for profit organization with the goal to promote a clean, green energy future via education and information. Its primary media outlet is its weekly "Podcast" and "Blog." Read our Press Release for more information.

What is a podcast?: An audio or video broadcast via streaming media over the Internet. Unlike traditional broadcasting, "Podcasts" can be stored and listened to at a later point in time. Additionally, "Podcasts" can be subscribed to via a player such as Itunes that will automatically update the subscriber when a feed is posted to the internet.

EI EDUCATES KIDS PROGRAM

The executives of Energy Industries invest over a hundred hours in community education annually, speaking for non-profit groups, schools and other organizations. Energy Industries believes time spent in the community helps develop the next generation of efficiency imbedded individuals.

In 2011 EI completed numerous lighting retrofits of Savers/Value Village stores in the US and Canada. These projects targeted the removal of obsolete T12 lamps, improving light levels, and reducing energy consumption by over 20%. These projects also included adjusting circuiting to meet corporate standards as well as implementing Energy Management Controls for better efficiency.

In 2012 EI has already signed additional retrofit projects and Site Assesments in many of their 270 stores.

These projects currently span across the west coast of the US and all of Canada, including Ontario, Quebec, New Brunswick, Newfoundland and Labrador, and Saskatchewan.

St Francis Winery Energy Project

St. Francis Winery, Santa Rosa, CA and Energy Industries have completed a series of 9 energy efficiency measures, including Variable Frequency Drives, Lighting, Compressed Air Upgrades, Boiler and AHU humidity controls.

This project will reduced St. Francis's energy cost by 190,000 kWh and 3,000 therms and over 10% of the project cost will be funded through Utility Rebates.

The energy reductions will provide a 28% Return on Investment and have a 3.6 year simple payback.


February 2012
Providence Health and Services, Spokane, WA has embarked on a significant Energy Savings project that will save over $280,000 annually in electricity cost. Energy Industries was able to qualify these projects at Sacred Heart Medical Campus and Holy Family Medical Building for co-funding from Avista, with this funding the project will pay for itself in less than 3 years.

September 23, 2011, PG&E held their Awards Ceremony in the Bay Area and Energy Industries won the following awards:

• First Place Total 2010 kW Savings

• First Place Total 2010 kWh Savings

• First Place District 7 2010 kWh Savings

• Second Place District 7 2010 kW Savings

• Third Place Total Number of Applications

Duane Ashimine, Diane Manzini (Tucson), Kate Donovan (Seattle) and Rex Minchey (San Leandro) were at the event to accept our awards (see photo).
